INHERITING ELEMENT BEVERAGE CO.

In November 2019, I endured the devastating loss of my only child, Devin Esapdron, to senseless gun violence — a tragedy that is still plaguing our inner-city communities. Devin was the creator and CEO of Element Beverage Company. After Devin's tragic death, I became secretly depressed and developed severe anxiety. I was functioning daily in denial and masked my pain by becoming overly indulged in work. I inherited my son's beverage company, and it was truly bittersweet. It’s a constant reminder of my son’s untimely departure yet a testament of his legacy. Through Element, I have the privilege of sharing his remarkable journey — how he transformed his grandmother's homemade lemonade recipe into a product embraced and sold by supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, hotels, and large festivals across the city of New Orleans. Devin's business model has been used to date to help and inspire others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

Despite the loss of my son, the pain, and the financial troubles, my son's spirit of persistence and memories of his encouraging voice saying, “KiKi, you got this! You are a winner.” helped me. Devin's entrepreneur drive craved the blueprint for me to create Etalian Happy lce & Mini Eats. I followed my son's business model and practices. They are practical and straightforward: persistence, consistency, quality products, service to others, and networking with people who you inspire to become.
